Since Maine Inside Out first began ten years ago, hundreds of young people impacted by incarceration in Maine have returned to communities with the support, preparation, and confidence to raise their voices at tables where the decisions that affect their lives are being made.
They have created powerful art and traveled around the state and the country to share it. They have led workshops in university classrooms, held forums to vet candidates for public office, and supported each other in navigating the significant challenges of building a life after incarceration. Maine communities are stronger because these young people are in them, sharing their experiences, connecting across boundaries and leading us forward.
Maine Inside Out will continue to center our work in the deep belief that no human being is disposable. We will work to uplift and care for each other by building a community that addresses harm with loving accountability and recognizes that the core needs of our communities must be met in order to support true public safety and the realization of human potential.
Your giving makes this work possible. It’s as simple as that. You can ensure that Maine Inside Out has the resources necessary to continue working in the Maine communities that incarcerate the largest numbers of young people.
Maine Inside Out’s ability to invest in our community exists because of the partnership solidarity, and generosity of you, our friends and supporters.
We invite you to give as generously as you are able in support of Maine Inside Out.
In the face of the very real challenges of this moment in time, we are honored to have your partnership in our ongoing efforts to initiate dialogue, develop leadership, and build community across boundaries with creative work.
