We are gearing up for our big November event and will be taking this month off from our Open Mic.

Our Mission

Maine Inside Out initiates dialogue, develops leadership, and builds community across boundaries with collaborative original theater, inside and outside correctional facilities. We are committed to dismantling all forms of oppression and building a movement for transformative justice in our communities.

What We Do

Maine Inside Out artists facilitate the creation of original theater to engage the community in dialogue about issues related to incarceration. The tool of theater invites us to recognize ourselves in others and to connect across boundaries.

Our Workshops

A typical Maine Inside Out workshop includes a series of creative workshop sessions culminating in an original performance. Workshops are flexible and can be modified to meet organization, facility, or community needs.
