Audience Feedback, Long Creek Youth Development Project, Spring, 2010
They meant what they said, they really did, at that moment.
They really would make a different choice, for real, no kidding, no doubt.
Their eyes, bright yet somehow sunk, spent, done, or not.
I can't stop looking at their eyes.
Tell me, how did he write that hip hop rant poem speech song?
How did he remember it, recite it, live it, feel it?
All that should be there, is there.
What wavered, fell, smashed, spiraled out of control?
Can one experience bring it back?
Would you have the strength, the drive, the discipline?
Who are we to ask so much?
Must we ask so much?
Can they, will they?
They must-we must.
Push the button, wait
Door opens, door closes
You're in.
You will leave, they might leave- yes or not.
Sit and wait, wait and look.
Is it OK to stand up, look around?
Is someone watching-am I in trouble-what if I want to go?
Can I push the button and wait?
Will it let me go-will they ever go-can it be different?
How can I know?
