Juneteenth Performance of “Broken Clock” in Lewiston on June 17
This year, MIO’s Creative Ensemble has been touring the original play, Broken Clock, and we will hold a special Juneteenth performance in Lewiston on June 17th at The Public Theatre.
We know that in this current wave of attempts to erase history it is ever important to honor, highlight and celebrate this year’s Juneteenth holiday. Here at MIO we believe in the power of theater to spark necessary dialogue around issues that are affecting our communities. We hope you will join us on 6/17 here in Lewiston, to engage in the dialogue, share your voice and represent this beautiful community. We would love your help to fill the seats with an intergenerational audience that represents the community of Lewiston by inviting those you know. Different from years past and in lieu of a larger Kennedy Park block party style event, we hope this more intimate setting will engage us all in deep and meaningful ways as we continue to move together with our shared work in this pivotal time.
Tuesday, June 17, at The Public Theatre 31 Maple St. Lewiston, ME
6pm Doors Open. Join us in the lobby for food and activities prior to the performance!
7pm Original film, performance of “Broken Clock,” and community dialogue.
The Public Theatre is an ADA accessible venue. Please reach out to admin@maineinsideout.org to request specific accommodations.
Thank you for your partnership and support and we’d love to see you on June 17. Reserve your free or donation-based ticket here!
Donate and Support the Tour
The Broken Clock tour is made possible through charitable support. Thank you to all who are supporting this work!
Due to the National Endowment for the Arts withdrawing their offer of a $25,000 grant to support MIO’s Broken Clock tour (20% of our tour budget), we will be launching a campaign on June 1 to raise $25k in 20 days in order to make up for this loss. Watch for this on June 1, or make a contribution today!
