Partnership Spotlight

Recovery Connections of Maine (RCOM)

Joseph Jackson, Jeremy Hiltz, Bruce King

Dom Morrison and Tyler Jackson

On September 30, MIO joined RCOM and many of MIO’s Lewiston partners and friends at the 3rd annual Recovery Rally in Kennedy Park hosted by the Lewiston Area Public Health Committee. It was a great day connecting with longtime friends and partners as well as others in the community. Much appreciation to RCOM for grilling and feeding the community for this event! The history and partnership with RCOM  goes back a long way to when MIO held the Lewiston community group in Grace Street Services where the founder of RCOM Jeremy Hiltz and MIO Co-Executive Director Bruce King then worked as counselors. Joseph Jackson goes back even further with Jeremy. RCOM’s commitment to the community not only as clinical counselors but also through service and engagement makes them a valued partner and tremendous asset in the state and model for others.
Check them out and support their work!

Prison Pod

On a recent episode of “Prison Pod” Bruce King, MIO’s Co-Executive Director and Joseph Jackson, MIO’s Director of Community Programs, share their wisdom and thoughts. “Prison Pod” is a podcast for people who are in jail or prison, and/or affected by incarceration. Using Sociology and Peace Studies to: Save Lives, Restore Hope, Reduce Suffering and Recidivism.
