MIO brings the tool of theater on the road and September events!

Summer Highlights

Maine Inside Out was on tour this August offering Theater of the Oppressed workshops across the state.

MIO partnered with Mano en Mano’s Blueberry Harvest School - a summer school for migrant children - in early August to lead a workshop for adult staff and multiple workshops with two groups of students ages 10-15. The MIO team stayed for two nights in Steuben to explore downeast Maine and build connections as a team. We cooked many meals together, swam in the ocean, sat around the campfire, and were even interviewed for a podcast created by BHS students.

The MIO team led workshops at the Maine Educator Summit in August and a workshop for all 90 first-year students at The University of Maine Law School as part of the orientation curriculum.

Thank you to everyone who partnered with us or joined us for a workshop this August! We love sharing our games and practices and connecting with new people across the state.

The MIO team shares family style meals together while visiting the Blueberry Harvest School in August and shares MIO theater tools with incoming Maine Law School students.
